The lawandtechnology.eu website is designed to be usable by as many people as possible, including persons with disabilities. This statement describes the level of accessibility of the site, the reference standards adopted, the content that still presents limitations and how to report any barriers.
1. Reference standards
The website is designed to comply with the European technical standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1, the harmonised standard for the accessibility of ICT products and services. For web content (clause 9), this standard fully incorporates the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA of the W3C. For an introduction to the standards, see the W3C‑WAI WCAG page.
In practice, the aim is to allow visitors to: enlarge content up to 200% without loss of information or functionality; navigate most of the website using the keyboard alone; use the website with the most common screen readers and speech recognition software.
2. Compliance status
The website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the EN 301 549 v3.2.1 standard, due to the non-conformities and exceptions listed in the “Non-accessible content” section.
3. Non-accessible content
The website is available in a bilingual version (Italian and English) with manually translated content and an accessible language selector, which shows the language name in its own language in line with W3C recommendations.
At present, no significant non-conformities with WCAG 2.1 Level AA are known in the content managed directly. Marginal limitations remain, attributable to third-party components embedded in the site (in particular the Google Maps map, the institutional RSS feeds and the cookie consent management banner), whose behaviour is not fully under the owner’s control. Alternative content and contacts are however available for the information conveyed by these components.
4. Accessibility measures
To reduce barriers and improve the user experience, the following measures have been adopted, among others:
- text contrast ratios compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA;
- semantic page structure with a correct heading hierarchy;
- alternative text and aria‑label attributes for images and informative elements (including the Sustainable Development Goal icons);
- keyboard navigability and visible focus indicators;
- responsive layout and support for zoom up to 200%.
5. Evaluation methodology
This statement is based on a self‑assessment carried out by the site owner using a combination of automated testing (with the axe‑core analysis engine, on the WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA criteria) and manual checks on a representative sample of pages.
6. Legal framework
The European reference is Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), transposed in Italy by Legislative Decree no. 82 of 27 May 2022. Implementing that decree, the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID) has adopted the Guidelines on the accessibility requirements of services, which concern specific consumer products and services ‑ in particular e-commerce, banking services, e-books, electronic communications services, access to audiovisual media services, passenger transport and the related self-service terminals. This website is purely informational and does not provide any of the services falling within that scope; moreover, as the activity of an individual professional (micro-enterprise), the obligations set out in the legislation are not strictly applicable. Nonetheless, the website voluntarily adopts the WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549 accessibility standards and follows the guidance of AgID’s digital accessibility portal, as a commitment to inclusion and equal access to information.
7. Feedback and contacts
You can report any access difficulties or barriers encountered, or request information or content in an accessible format, by writing to: valentinagraziasapuppo [at] proton [dot] me. Your reports help to identify problems and improve the accessibility of the site.
8. Preparation of this statement
Statement prepared on 30 June 2026 on the basis of a self‑assessment. The website was tested on the same date. The statement will be updated following significant changes to the website or to the reference standards.
