Information notice on the use of cookies and tracking tools

This notice is provided pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Directive 2002/58/EC (the “ePrivacy Directive”) and Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Italian Data Protection Code), in accordance with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority on cookies and other tracking tools (measure of 10 June 2021, no. 231).

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user’s device, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit. This notice describes the types, purposes and management of the cookies and tracking tools used by the website lawandtechnology.eu.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Avv. Valentina Grazia Sapuppo. For information you may write to valentinagraziasapuppo [at] proton [dot] me; further contact details are available on the Contacts page.

2. What cookies are

Cookies may be installed by the site visited (first-party cookies) or by different sites or servers (third-party cookies). Based on their duration, they are distinguished into session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or are deleted by the user.

3. Types of cookies used and legal basis

Technical (necessary) cookies. They ensure the proper operation of the site and store user preferences, such as language and cookie choices. Pursuant to art. 122(1) of Legislative Decree 196/2003, they do not require the user’s consent.

Statistical cookies. They collect aggregated information on the use of the site through Matomo, with IP address anonymisation. As a tool used solely for audience measurement, first-party, with data collected in aggregate form, the IP address anonymised and without sharing with third parties, cross-referencing with other processing or tracking across different sites, these cookies are treated as technical cookies in accordance with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (measure of 10 June 2021, no. 231) and therefore do not require the user’s consent. It remains possible to object to this measurement at any time (opt-out), as indicated in point 6.

The site does not use profiling or advertising cookies.

4. Third-party cookies

The consent management service is provided by Cookiebot (Usercentrics). Statistics are collected through a self-hosted installation of Matomo, with anonymised IP. The complete and up-to-date list of cookies, with their duration and purpose, is shown in point 7 below.

5. Cookie duration

The retention period of each cookie is indicated in the list below.

6. Managing and withdrawing consent

On first access a banner is shown allowing you to accept or reject cookies. You can review or withdraw your choices at any time through the consent management button available on every page. You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies; disabling technical cookies may impair the use of the site. For the statistical audience-measurement cookies, treated as technical cookies and used without consent, you may exercise the right to object (opt-out) at any time through the following control:

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
