FUTURE gathers scenarios, forecasts and long-term visions of how law, technology and institutions may evolve by 2030 and beyond. The section examines the instruments through which governments and organisations seek to anticipate change, from the European Union’s strategic foresight to the work of ESPAS and the trajectories of the Digital Decade. Its common thread is the relationship between anticipatory knowledge and the quality of public decisions. The contributions engage with Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
